In Your Neighborhood

Lending a Hand

In Your Neighborhood is a simple, safe way to find reliable local helpers when family isn’t available. We are in the early stages of development and are seeking individuals interested in testing the project. Click a relevant button below if this is you.

We appreciate your support!

How It Works

Simple, safe, and built around your neighborhood.

Step 1: Tell Us What You Need

Families or seniors share a little about the kind of visits or support they’d like — from friendly conversation to light help around the house.

Step 2: We Match You with a Local Helper

We connect you with a background-checked neighbor who’s flexible, reliable, and ready to lend a hand.

Step 3: Enjoy Visits & Support

Spend time together, share stories, and get everyday tasks taken care of — while building a real connection close to home.

What to Expect

✅ What Neighbors Do

  • Light Household Help – tidying up, folding laundry, washing dishes, or watering plants.

  • Social Connection – sharing conversation, playing games, reading together, or enjoying hobbies.

  • Tech Assistance – helping with smartphones, tablets, computers, or video calls.

  • Wellness Check-Ins – making sure everything is okay at home, and reporting back to family if requested.

  • Meal Prep Assistance – simple kitchen help like preparing snacks or light meals.

  • Pet Companionship – feeding pets, short walks, or just giving them attention.

  • Organizing Help – sorting mail, organizing shelves, or keeping things in order.

  • Learning Together – teaching or sharing skills, from streaming TV shows to knitting or music.

  • Outdoor Time – enjoying fresh air, watering flowers, or taking gentle walks nearby.

🚫 What Neighbors Don’t Do

To keep everyone safe and expectations clear, neighbors are not caregivers or service professionals. This means they do not provide:

  • Medical care, medication management, or personal hygiene assistance.

  • Heavy chores (landscaping, moving furniture, deep cleaning).

  • Driving or transportation services.

  • Financial tasks (handling money, paying bills, or banking).

  • Skilled trades (plumbing, electrical, or appliance repairs).

  • Emergency response (though they will call family or 911 if needed).

Trust & Safety, Made Simple
Your peace of mind is our priority. Here’s how we keep visits safe and reliable:

  1. Thorough Background Checks – Every Neighbor is carefully screened and verified.

  2. Clear Boundaries – We set safe expectations for what Neighbors do (and don’t do).

  3. Peace of Mind – Families can receive visit updates and know support is always close by.

More about
In Your Neighborhood

We started this service because we saw how many seniors could use an extra hand and how many younger adults want meaningful, flexible work. By connecting them, we make neighborhoods warmer, friendlier, and more supportive.

As we develop this service, we want to hear from you about your needs and what you are looking for whether you are a senior, a family member, or a neighbor.
